ERME Book Chapter – Discussion Sessions

On the occasion of its 20th birthday, in 2018, ERME prepares to publish a book in order to present the most important directions, developments and trends of European Research in Mathematics Education. The 18 chapters of the book report on the main lines of development in ERME in the course of the past 20 years and show the spirit of communication, cooperation, collaboration in the process.

The chapter drafts have been written by well acknowledged authors in the field who have contributed to the CERME history and to its present. In order to realize the ERME spirit also in the process of chapter writing, one hour in nearly each TWG will be spent at CERME 10 to discuss the chapter draft corresponding to this TWG. This will allow the participants to look back on earlier achievements and ideas, and enable the chapters to be enhanced by the shared wisdom of all group members.

The draft chapters are published below. We ask all participants to prepare for the ERME BOOK discussion session in their TWG by reading the chapter to be discussed before coming to the conference. The schedule of discussions is available here.

A main aim of this process is to establish shared understandings on which to ground future European research in mathematics education.
